We are the husband and wife team of Grumpy & Happy. We are a small Private Charter Snorkeling - Tour company (Just Jolene and Lorne) that specialize in private service (just your group on the boat for snorkeling tours). We have been in business in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye Belize for 12 years and are licensed tour operators, members of the Belize Tourism Board.. We are also licensed Dive instructors (no longer practicing - just snorkeling now and arranging tours).
What makes us different is that we do not own a dive shop and we do every trip ourselves. We do not mix groups, every trip is private and we have no employees.
Our business comes from the internet, emails, return customers, local business that send people to us, referrals from past customers and people that find us on chat lines sites such as Cruise Critic or Trip Advisor. Recently we were told by a customer that we were found in Lonely Planet magazine and another that found us on Travel Magazine. We keep busy so please book early.
It is because of our independence that we can offer a wide variety of experiences and visit many different snorkel sites. On our snorkel trips we visit a wide variety of sites that are less traveled as well as the most popular ones such as the famous Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. Just tell us what you would like. and take a look at the various trips we do offer. We have many different options. Many of the sites are becoming our favorites but sometimes we see an interesting coral formation and just drop and anchor to check it out. Yes we really are different and you already know who your guides are.
We are among the fortunate - we love what we do for a living, love our independence and that we get to meet great people. Our independence also ensures that we can take personal care of every client. It has been a pleasure to work together like this and we have made many friends world wide over the years. In the past we have taken snorkeling those people that desire personal and private service, the handicapped, the sick, the elderly, families with small small children and those with various issues that make a trip on a boat with a group of people that they do no know undesirable. Jolene and I do every trip personally and love working with people with special needs. |

Jolene the GRUMPY one (smile) and I the HAPPY one(smile) decided to move here with our 3 kids 9 years ago from Canada to start a new life. Just last year we were awarded Belizean Citizenship.We chose Belize for many reasons including the fact that the Belize Barrier Reef is one of the largest and most pristine reef systems in the world. As well as english being the first language in Belize. We started a private service scuba dive instruction and snorkeling business because it was active, healthy and we like people.

Lorne, the GRUMPY one and I, the HAPPY ONE started out working as instructors and guides for several Dive Shops. We soon learned that volume on the boat was what the dive shops wanted. We understood that but it was not what we wanted.We wanted to talk to people, spend time, relax and have fun. So we started our own Private Service company. The response has been wonderful. We are NOT A DIVE SHOP and are not into profit by numbers. This is what makes our family business special. We keep your group private, no one else on the boat and schedule to your desire. | These picture are taken in the Marine Reserve. Close encounters are the norm here and many have been thrilled by how close they can get to marine life. The marine life here is protected and not afraid of you.
This a is a great chance to experience something unique. There are many other spots less frequented and a few of our 'secret spots' that we love to take our customers to. |
